The path of Anusara
Anusara means “flowing with Grace.”
Anusara Yoga is a method of Hatha Yoga rooted in the non-dual Tantric teachings of Kashmir Shaivism, offering a pathway to explore the body, mind, heart, and deeper dimensions of Self through movement, meditation, breath, philosophy, and contemplation.
Rather than separating yoga practice from everyday life, Anusara invites us to explore how the teachings can become embodied and lived.
Throughout this training, you will explore both Classical and Non-dual Tantric approaches to yoga, creating a rich and multidimensional foundation for your personal practice and your teaching. You will learn not simply what to teach, but how to connect the teachings to your own direct experience—so that your teaching can emerge from an authentic place of understanding, presence, and embodiment.
What’s unique about the Anusara Lineage
-
Explore biomechanical alignment and the Anusara Universal Principles of Alignment as a pathway toward greater stability, freedom, therapeutic awareness, and connection within the body.
-
Discover the teachings of Kashmir Shaivism and a worldview that recognizes the sacredness of life, inviting you to meet your practice—and the world around you—with greater openness, positivity, and reverence.
-
Explore yoga as a multidimensional practice that brings together movement, breath, meditation, philosophy, contemplation, and the deeper dimensions of Self.
-
Move beyond learning philosophy intellectually and explore how the teachings can become directly experienced, embodied, and integrated into the way you practice and live.
-
Experience kula—the community of the heart—as an integral part of the path. Through relationship, connection, and shared practice, discover how community can support both personal growth and collective transformation.
-
Develop the precision and skill required to teach with clarity, intelligence, and presence. You will develop strong verbal communication and effective cues for biomechanical actions, learn to offer safe and educational hands-on adjustments, design intelligent and purposeful sequences, and cultivate refined observational skills.
-
Learn how to integrate philosophical themes into your teaching in ways that are authentic, relevant, and grounded in direct experience—allowing the deeper teachings of yoga to come alive through the practice rather than remaining abstract concepts.
-
Become part of a teaching tradition with a well-established methodology and high standards of practice and instruction. Anusara's approach brings together alignment, sequencing, observation, language, hands-on skills, and philosophy in a cohesive framework—supporting you to develop not only knowledge, but the discernment and refinement to teach skillfully.
-
Cultivate a relationship with yoga that extends beyond the training itself, supporting greater health, joy, connection, self-awareness, and an ongoing evolution as both practitioner and teacher.
Abhyasa — The Practice of Returning
In the Yoga Sutras, abhyasa refers to sustained practice. There is something so simple, and so profound, about this.
We return to the practice.
We return to the breath.
We return to awareness.
And we return again and again.
Through consistency, repetition and devotion, practice becomes more than something we do. It becomes something we live. The teachings move from knowledge that exists outside of us into something felt, embodied and experienced within.
A Yoga Teacher Training offers a dedicated period of study, practice and transformation. Through Awaken the Heart, we journey together over eight months, creating the time and space for the teachings to take root, unfold and become part of our lived experience.
There is time to study deeply, to practice consistently, to ask questions, to reflect, to integrate and to allow the teachings to meet us where we are.
This is the spirit behind the structure of Awaken the Heart.
Our intention is to honour the teachings of Yoga by giving them the time, space and devotion they deserve — allowing what we learn to move beyond the mind, into the body, the heart and ultimately, into the way we live.
This training is for you if you feel called to deepen your relationship with yoga and are ready to commit to an immersive process of personal and professional development.

We believe meaningful learning, growth and transformation require time to unfold and integrate.
The live modules provide immersive experiences of practice, study and community, while the months between them create the space to practise, reflect, ask questions, explore, and begin to embody what you are learning in your everyday life.
Rather than moving quickly through information and skills, this eight-month journey gives you the opportunity to return to the teachings again and again — allowing them to move from something you learn into something you live.
Our intention is not only to support you in becoming a confident and authentic yoga teacher, but to help you develop yoga as a living practice — one that can continue to support your health, wellbeing, self-awareness and transformation long after the training is complete.
Through consistent practice, reflection, community and integration, the teachings become resources you can draw upon as you navigate the continual cycles, transitions and possibilities of life.
The journey is therefore not simply from student to teacher. It is an invitation to deepen your relationship with yourself, your practice and the world around you — and to discover how the wisdom of yoga can be embodied and lived in every area of your life.
